ARMAGEDDON The Facts

NASA allowed filming of an actual space shuttle launch for a fictional story for the first time.

Armageddon is the second movie that depicts a fictional shuttle launch using actual launch footage. The first was SpaceCamp (1986).

Director Michael Bay had the actors write their list of demands on the papers that Bruce Willis read from.

Michael Bay is seen as a NASA scientist.

Criterion's two-DVDs version features the longer director's cut with added dialogue and footage, including a scene between Harry Stamper and his father. A second DVD with supplemental material is included, with additional deleted scenes, outtakes and bloopers.
