BICENTENNIAL MAN The Facts

On 17 June 1999, crews filming in the brand new San Francisco City Hall building set off the sprinkler system, flooding hallways, causing serious damage, and angering San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.

The futuristic headquarters of "NorthAm Robotics" are actually the headquarters of Oracle Corporation, in Redwood Shores, CA.

Andrew is a NDR-114. This may be a tribute to Stanley Kubrick, who used the number 114 in multiple films (such as A Clockwork Orange (1971) and Dr. Strangelove (1964)).

The film is actually based on Isaac Asimov's short story "The Positronic Man." The title comes from another story by Asimov, about a rising politician running for President who is suspected of being a robot.
